The 12" x 34" "Large" Aquabag-FE is for larger pools and those with higher levels of iron.
Just like its smaller sibling (the FE-Small), it can be rinsed and reused.

We offer adapters that will allow you connect an Aquabag to the return/inlet port of most pools. If our adapters are not compatible, a common connection for soft sided and hard sided above ground pools is to simply disconnect your return hose, insert it into the Aquabag and tighten the clamp. Then simply sit back while your pool clears.
* Precipitated iron is iron that has been oxidized, otherwise know and iron oxide or "rust". Our Aquabag filters will not remove iron that is still in solution (Clear Water). Please read our Iron Rust in Pool Water article for more information.

We have high iron well water and though we have a filter on our well pump and the water comes out clear, once we add chlorine to our pool, the iron oxidizes into rust very quickly turning our pool a dark shade of brown. We wasted tons of time and money trying different methods and chemicals with no success, including metal outs and the heralded “bucket method”.
After some research I came across the Aquabag and placed an order right away. I was a little impatient in waiting on shipping but it came within a week. I immediately hooked it the end of our filter outlet hose and could see a change in the color of the bag right away. Due to the amount of iron in our pool, it took almost a week of constant running our filter and cleaning the bag every few hours, but one morning we woke up to a sparkling clean pool. I may have cried a few tears of joy.
We have since topped off the pool once and there was a slight change in water color to a greenish shade so I put the Aquabag back on and it was clear again in a few hours. I have now made myself an unofficial spokesperson for this product and have been telling everyone I know with similar issues to order one as well. Thank you for saving our pool and our summer!

Did clear up my pool, saving me a small fortune in sequestering agents for the season. Whats missing is how to deal with Iron Stains. The bag by itself will not do this. I used commercial grade Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) first on the stains to get them into solution, running the filter in re-circulation mode for 8 hours, then let it stand for 8 more hours. Stains are gone at this point but they will come back unless the Iron is extracted. I then ran the filtration system (I have a DE system) with the Aquabag-FE in place using a normal on/off filtration cycle but also started adding chemicals after the first day to adjust the Ph, the Ascorbic Acid will screw up your Ph, After 3 days the water was getting real clear and the stains were gone. I cleaned the bags and continued this for another 4 days and then went back to normal. It has been 2 weeks now and the water has stayed clear and the stains have not returned, very pleased with the results.

I was pretty sure I would just have to accept having ugly, cloudy water. I asked, searched for solutions, but found nothing till Aquabag-FE. My well water was so hard and full of iron I had almost given up hope. I can't even remember how I found this product, but I can tell you it has saved my pool. I was ready to give up and now I have delicious crystal clear water to swim in. It took about a week of running the pump 6 -12 hours a day to clear the pool. I cleaned the Aquabag every day during this process. I still have it on and it works great. Thank you Aquabag-FE. More people need to know about this product!
